Vision
& Values
Classical Consortium inspires excellence in education by partnering with parents to provide classical Christian instruction. Since we began in 2006, we have been cultivating a love of wisdom and learning in our students. We desire to see each student deepen their love of the Lord, passion for learning, and strength of character through our program.
Statement
of Faith
“In essentials unity, in non-essentials liberty, and in all things love.” - Augustine
Classical Consortium Academy serves families from many different churches and several different denominations. We foster debate and encourage students to discuss topics discussed with their parents and pastors.

We believe:
-
The Scriptures, both Old and New Testaments, to be the inspired Word of God, without error in the original writings, the complete revelation of His will for the salvation of men, and the Divine and final authority for Christian faith and life.
-
In one God, Creator of all things, infinitely perfect and eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
-
That Jesus Christ is true God and true man, having been conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He died on the cross, a sacrifice for our sins, according to the Scriptures. Further, He arose bodily from the dead, ascended into heaven, where, at the right hand of the Majesty on High, He is now our High Priest and Advocate.
-
That the ministry of the Holy Spirit is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ and, during this age, to convict men; regenerate the believing sinner; and indwell, guide, instruct, and empower the believer for godly living and service.
-
That man was created in the image of God but fell into sin and is, therefore, lost; only through regeneration by the Holy Spirit can salvation and spiritual life be obtained.
-
That the shed blood of Jesus Christ and His Resurrection provide the only ground for justification and salvation for all who believe, and only such as receive Jesus Christ are born of the Holy Spirit and thus become children of God.
-
In the personal and imminent coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and that this “Blessed Hope” has a vital bearing on the personal life and service of the believer.
-
In the bodily resurrection of the dead: the believer to everlasting blessedness and joy with the Lord; the unbeliever to judgment and everlasting conscious punishment.
Leadership
CCA's Leadership Team is passionate about the classical Christian approach to education. We are parents who understand what it's like to be in the trenches day to day, and we want to encourage you on your classical education journey. We're also a team that laughs together, bonds over the challenges of raising kiddos in the world we live in, and shares a commitment to the CCA community. The CCA Leadership Team works closely together to set policy and ensure that the mission and vision of CCA is upheld.
Jennifer Burns
Founder and Head of School
I feel honored that God called me to start CCA in 2006 and continues to allow me to lead our ministry. I am happily married to David Burns and the mother of three boys – Ryan, Bradley, and Nicholas and mother-in-law of Catherine. I have a master’s degree in Marketing from Northwestern University. I believe strongly that my life’s purpose is found in Galatians 6:9-10. I adore being in the classroom with our amazing CCA students and teaching them how to think logically and critically about the world around them.
Stephanie Ludwig
Academic Director - Upper School
I graduated magna cum laude from North Central College with a degree in Biology and minor in Secondary Education. I taught high school Biology and Physical Science and middle school science before becoming a homeschool mom to my three children, Nathan, Abigail, and Isaac. I love teaching science through experimentation and enjoy spending Mondays at CCA with my students.
Stephanie Bucataru
Academic Director - Lower School
Stephanie became a Christian in childhood, and loves discovering more about God's magnitude through learning about the world that He made. She enjoys nature study, foreign languages, reading, gardening and teaching children. She graduated magna cum laude from Kalamazoo College, then moved to Romania where she met her husband Gabi and adopted their two oldest children. Later, they were abundantly blessed with the privilege of adopting three more sweet girls from Chicago. She has been homeschooling since 2001 and is thrilled to teach the delightful children of C.C.A..
Beth Thomas
Director of Administration
I am a native North Carolinian whose favorite class at UNC-Chapel Hill was Castle and Cathedral in Medieval England, which traced the history of England through the architecture of its beautiful worship spaces. My husband, Russ, and I have three children, all of whom attend CCA - Joe, Anna Catherine, and Ben. I’m humbled and honored to serve as Administrative Director and filled with joyful anticipation to see where God calls us.
Prior to becoming a homeschool mom, I was an executive assistant on Capitol Hill and in the private sector in Washington, DC; an associate in the public affairs practice of a large PR firm in Chicago; and owned an upscale pet boutique in Charleston, SC. I’m also an avid Tar Heel basketball fan and enjoy reading, traveling, and spending as much time as possible outdoors.
