We wrapped up our Fall Enrichment Weeks here at Classical Consortium this month. Twice a semester, we schedule field trips and service projects for our students (and reduce our homework load by half). These experiences are a fun way to enrich our learning together. Enjoy this recap!
Our September Enrichment week began with a packing event for victims of Hurricane Harvey in Texas. Our students and families collected supplies and gathered at Village Church of Barrington to pack them up to send down to Houston.
We packed and shipped roughly 120 boxes of needed items to the people in Texas, and also donated money to Reach Global to help support the rebuilding of several churches destroyed by Harvey.
Chicago Botanic Gardens
We took a field trip to the Botanic Gardens to end our first Enrichment Week. Over 75 students and their families enjoyed God's creativity and beauty displayed in nature.
Our students explored many different types of gardens, such as the vegetable garden, waterfall garden, Japanese garden, and even the model train garden.
Goebberts Pumpkin Farm
The sun was out for our field trip to Goebberts in October. Students had a blast with their classmates in the corn maze and zoo. Watch for a more detailed recap of this trip in the next OmniPost!
Many thanks to ALL of you who helped make our first Enrichment Week a success. We're especially thankful for the parents who organized these events for our homeschool community. We're looking forward to our next Enrichment Weeks in February and April!
